've actually killed us and are continuing to kill snus and chuck hagel, the same thing. if it wasn't so scary, and so dangerous, we've got chuck hagel going to be the new defense secretary. chuck hagel could not identify hezbollah, hamas or the iranian national guard as terrorists, he also has said, sanctions don't work, all president obama told us all during the campaign was how terrific the sanctions worked and then also told us we shouldn't attack iran. explain to me how you're going to stop them from becoming a nuclear power if you don't use sanctions and take the idea of a possible military attack off the table and what kind of signal sending to iran to select somebody who believes that. basically president obama is signaling them, i don't really believe in the sanctions that much and don't worry we'll never attack you. >> sean: how do you interpret this in a broader picture. we're going through the president or joe biden is talking about executive orders to advance their gun control initiative. we have nancy pelosi saying let's use the 14th amendment let's forget article 1, section 7, c

a little in the next segment. let me ask you, two recent announcements in relation to chuck hagel as defense secretary and john brennan cia. i have a problem and a lot of people do when, for example, chuck hagel couldn't identify hamas and hezbollah as terrorist organizations. he was reluctant to do that, or even the iranian revolutionary guard or his comments about israel which i found quite disturbing. when he goes on to say that the jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people and in the case of brennan, he's got issues involving the holyland case where one of these hamas guys actually got into our national security center. when you read those things, nothing your background and knowing our enemy, what do you think? >> well, i think that, first, i don't judge the president's cabinet selections in quite the same way some people do by policy. i really think the most important thing, does the president trust them. 's got to form a team. the president's ultimately going to be responsible for the direction in which the administration goes. the cabinet has got to be a cohesive team that

of fights. he's willing to fight on chuck hagel and here you have a guy, john brennan for the cia who said that jihad is a legitimate tenant of isl-- tenet of islam and he said that he's not going to allow the debt ceiling debate to be died to spending cuts which we desperately needs. he obviously -- he wants a fight. what do you make of the strategy that he's employed. >> i think what's happened to him is he feels that by winning a second term, with a slight addition of democrats in the house and the senate he now is, you know, king of the the world to quote an oscar winner of bygone days. and you noticed in these lists, look at the list of the major appointees, starting with brennan and hagel and these are nobody of independent stature. it's not like the first term where he had a clinton, where he had a gates, where he had people who could be a team of rivals. this is a team of essential, you know, fact totems. he wants to rule and he wants to govern and he will not let anybody stand in his way and i think that's what he's saying and he will take on any fight in order to get his people.
